Our Editor-in-Chief, Simon Schwarz, oversees editorial standards but does not handle day-to-day data enquiries, so please use the privacy email for any requests about your personal data.
We are committed to protecting your privacy in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Gibraltar Data Protection Act 2018. As a publisher based outside the UK, we have appointed a UK representative to ensure we meet our obligations. How this works in practice
To make this policy concrete, consider this example: you email tips@stadtlogik.de with a news tip about a local council decision. Your email address, name, and the content of the tip are stored securely on our editorial system. Our Politikredaktör, Jonas Winkler, reviews your tip. After we publish a story based on the tip, we may keep your contact details for a few months in case we need to follow up. We will never forward your tip to a third party without your permission. If you later email privacy@stadtlogik.de to request deletion, we will remove your details from all systems, except for an anonymised log we keep for security auditing purposes. We will also send you a confirmation that the deletion has been completed.
What are your rights under UK GDPR?
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and object to processing of your personal data. You also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time (for example, by unsubscribing from the newsletter). To exercise any of these rights, simply email privacy@stadtlogik.de with your request. We will respond within one month. If we cannot identify you, we may ask for additional information to confirm your identity.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) – the data protection authority for the United Kingdom. Stadtlogik Media Ltd. is registered in Gibraltar and operates under the jurisdiction of the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority for data protection. However, because our primary readership is in Sweden and internationally, and we offer services to readers in the UK, we comply fully with UK GDPR. Your data may be processed on servers located within the European Economic Area (EEA) and in the United Kingdom. We ensure that any international transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or the UK ICO.
If you are in the UK, you have the additional protections provided by UK GDPR.
