Beschwerdeverfahren

If you believe something we have published is inaccurate, unfair or otherwise falls short of our editorial standards, this page explains how to let us know and what you can expect from us in return. We take every complaint seriously and have a clear process to ensure your concern is reviewed promptly and transparently.

How do I submit a complaint?

Please send your complaint by email to complaints@stadtlogik.de. That single address reaches the team responsible for logging and triaging all editorial complaints. You should include the headline or URL of the article, a clear description of what you consider to be wrong and, if possible, the evidence or sources that support your view. We also welcome complaints about photographs, headlines, social-media posts or any other content we publish. If you prefer to complain by post, you can write to our registered office in Gibraltar – see the Contact page – but email is faster.

Once we receive your complaint we will send you an automated acknowledgment within one working day. The email will include a reference number and an estimate of how long the initial review will take, typically five working days for straightforward matters. For complex issues – for example, a disputed claim based on multiple sources – we may need up to fourteen days. We will always keep you informed if the process takes longer.

What happens after I submit?

Your complaint is logged and assigned to the most relevant editor. For factual errors, the Ansvarig för faktagranskning, Daniela Sauer (emma.sandberg@stadtlogik.de), leads the investigation. For broader editorial concerns about fairness, balance or tone, the Redaktionschef, Katrin Kaiser (karin.bergstrom@stadtlogik.de) reviews the piece. Where the complaint involves a political or policy story, the Politikredaktör, Jonas Winkler (johan.eriksson@stadtlogik.de) may also be consulted. Every complaint is assessed against our published Editorial Policy and Corrections Policy.

The editor will examine the original sources, speak to the writer and, if necessary, consult external experts. We will then decide whether a correction, clarification, update or removal is warranted. You will receive a detailed written response explaining our decision and, where we have made a change, a link to the published correction note. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you can ask for your case to be escalated to the Chefredaktör, Simon Schwarz (anders.lindqvist@stadtlogik.de). Simon will personally review the file and issue a final decision. This escalation route is open to all complainants, at no cost.

How this works in practice

Imagine a reader notices that an article about Sweden’s housing market states that mortgage rates have risen by two percentage points, but the reader’s own records show the rise was only 1.5 points. The reader emails complaints@stadtlogik.de with the article URL, the claimed number and a link to the central bank’s official data. Within one day the complaint is assigned to Daniela Sauer. She contacts the Wirtschaftreporter, Eva Martin, who checks the original source used for the article. It turns out the writer misread a table. Eva amends the figure, adds a correction note at the foot of the article explaining the change, and Daniela emails the reader to apologise and thank them. The whole process takes three working days. If the reader had still been unhappy, they could have asked Simon Schwarz to look again.

Where can I find our editorial standards and correction policy?

Our Corrections Policy explains how we handle errors, from minor typos to substantive mistakes, and how we label and date corrections, clarifications and updates. Our Editorial Policy sets out the principles that guide every piece we publish: accuracy, fairness, independence and transparency. Both documents are freely available and form the standard against which all complaints are assessed. We also encourage you to read our Our Story and Sources & Standards pages for more context on how we work.

Who is responsible for handling complaints?

Ultimately, Simon Schwarz, Chefredaktör, is accountable for all editorial decisions and for the integrity of our complaints process. The day-to-day handling is managed by Katrin Kaiser (Redaktionschef) and Daniela Sauer (Ansvarig för faktagranskning). Our publisher, Stadtlogik Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009), supports the process but does not intervene in editorial judgement. For matters that raise privacy or data-protection concerns, you can contact us via Privacy Policy page. Full contact details for the entire editorial team are on our Contact page.

In short

Email complaints@stadtlogik.de with the article and your concern – we will acknowledge it, investigate thoroughly and give you a clear answer. If we made a mistake we will correct it, and if you are not satisfied the final decision rests with our editor-in-chief, Simon Schwarz. Your feedback helps us keep the journalism trustworthy.
